LAURA LA REYNA

Laura is a captivating performer, particularly renowned for her skillful command of the aerial ring and tissue, as well as being skilled in hula hoops and adagio. Laura has honed her circus skills at Vulcana Women's Circus (Brisbane), training with a range of national and international artists and performing in the circus arts for the last six years. Her stage presence and grace have been further developed by drawing upon a number of other disciplines including ballet, capoeira and Suzuki Method performance training. Laura has delighted audiences at a variety of events including Adelaide Fringe Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, Red Door Burlesque, Melbourne Fringe Festival and various corporate and community events across Australia. Laura la Reyna is a lady of leisure.

But don't be mislead, Laura doesn't spend every day riding pink ponies. After all, it is a full time job being this fabulous, and you know this girl puts in her overtime. Focusing her performances on strong aesthetics, clean images and immaculate. detailed costuming, Laura creates a style that is a rendezvous of pop culture, burlesque with a dash of fantasy thrown in for good measure - and lets not forget the secret ingredient... love.

Didj Wentworth has performed to audiences across the globe. His aerial straps are unmistakable, drawing on inspiration from dance circuse and martial arts. He fuses together traditioanl and contemporary circuse creating an act both exhilarating and edgy that still seems to find moments of simplicity. Didj pushes the physical boundaries with a sleek performance that demands attention.

Kali Retallack

Kali is and an eloquent and experienced physical performer specializing in Lyra (spinning hoop), tissue, hulla hoops and dance. Kali has been performing since the age of 10, and became a member of the Flying Fruit Fly circus circus at 14, where her love of circus began.

Kali trained in dance at the Dance Factory in 2007 to add to her versatility and circus acts and has since been freelance performing around Australia in corporate and community events. Kali was selected to work with CIRCA and performed in their art end show ‘Chroma’ and also featured in Silverchair's filmclip “If you keep losing sleep”

Kylie Auldist has performed with Funk, Soul and Hip Hop oufits including Polyester, Mega Bias and of course The Bamboos. Kylie has appeared on recordings and as a backing vocalist for Australian music legends such as Renee Geyer and Jimmy Barnes, playing many high profile gigs both in Australia and overseas. Kylie Auldist delivers emotionally charged powerful vocals with a versatility of style. In 2007 The Bamboos took Kylie to Europe and the UK where she met and signed with UK record company Tru Thoughts.

Her first solo album 'Just Say' was co-written and produced by The Bamboos and Lanu main-man Lance Ferguson. 'Just Say' was released in May 2008 to critical acclaim, receiving accolades from the likes of Mark Lamarr (BBC), Bobbito Garcia & Andy Smith.

Mike Gurrieri
Mike's strictly underground attitude towards music has earned him a reputation as a DJ who can open an entire crowd's mind to fresh, innovative music but still know how to make it fun at the same time.

Having worked in several local record stores earlier in his career enabled Mike to develop his ear & build a solid collection of music. Not content with just being known as a deep house DJ, Mike has managed to make a name for himself also playing more eclectic freestyle DJ sets where he explores the depths of jazz, funk, soul, roots & beyond.

Having the ability to play such a wide variety of music has given Mike the opportunity to be the local DJ of choice given the task of setting the mood for many touring acts to take the reigns. He has been billed alongside the likes of Derrick Carter, Henrik Schwarz, Metro Area & Mark Farina at Melbourne's top house music nights. With the more freestyle DJ sets, he has supported DJs such as Jazzanova, Quantic, Nickodemus & Ben Westbeech as well as live acts including Amp Fiddler, Mayer Hawthorne & Crazy Penis. Mike has also started performing alongside funk and soul vocalist Kylie Auldist (of The Bamboos) live on PA. They recently made their debut together at Summadayze 2010 in Melbourne.

2010 promises to be a big year with more international support gigs, more releases on his record label Deepermotions Music & waiting for the right amount of inspiration to move into music production. Stay tuned.

As a DJ he specialises in Surf, 50's Rock N Roll, Jazz/Swing/Soul and Exoctica tunes, which currently sees him as resident Saturday night DJ for the Red Bennies South Side Show!
