RED BENNIES presents EXPOSE
Expose features Australia’s premier up and coming circus, cabaret and burlesque performers.
A regular event at Red Bennies, Expose enables emerging performance artists to perform to a full house at one of Australia’s premier venues, and provides a platform for exposure to the countries top talent scouts and producers.
A select group of applicants from prestigious performing arts schools such as the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) and the Victoria College of the Arts (VCA) are chosen to take part in the events hosted by guest industry professionals. A great opportunity to get a first glimpse at tomorrows Fringe stars, this one night only event is not to be missed by fans or circus arts!
Bonnie and Stevee (“Other Left Foot”)
Bonnie and Stevee are currently in their graduating year at Nica, and have featured in numerous productions including ‘Veritas’, directed by Holly Rollins. They have also performed in cabarets, corporate function and fundraisers. Before beginning their time at Nica, Bonnie trained and performed with community circus troupes, and Stevee came from a competitive gymnastics background.
Jessica joined Flying Fruit Fly circus 2005-Dec 2009. She also performed Solo 2009 with A4 circus ensemble (Melbourne, Albury, Sydney) as well as many corporate functions and circus festival/ cabarets (e.g. Circalicious) in Sydney and Melbourne performing hula hoops and static trapeze. Currently attending Nica-first year. Jessica was a participant in Exposé’s inaugural show as well, with her sensational Hula-hoops act. In the upcoming show, she will be debuting her single point trapeze act to Melbourne.
Carlie Huberman & Shaun Diaz
Carlie Huberman has been doing dance and partner acrobatics since she was very little. She is a 20 year old from America and has studied Circus all over the United States and is now in Melbourne to intensely study circus acrobatics.
Shaun Diaz has been dancing professionally for two years. He grew up in WA and has come to
Melbourne to build on his dancing career. His favorite styles are Modern Jive Latin, Jazz and Contemporary.
Tomoko is a NICA 3rd year student originally from Japan. Her specialties are swinging
trapeze, contortion barrel and foot juggling. She has an extensive background in mime, show dance, and roving performance.
