Poco La Pax rocked the house last time they played at Jack Rabbit Slims and there was so much vibe on these players of songs, and purveyors of all things musically awesome that we were forced, due to sheer want, to book them again. 

Poco la Pax is a Melbourne electro-pop dance outfit that combines the best of live instrumentation and electronic sampling through dynamic live performances. Comprised of 7 members, each building and enhancing on the others talents. These are a group of Melbournians that are worth hearing, seeing and then supporting.

Poco La Pax hold residencies across the other side of town in Brunswick with residences at The Evelyn and The Night Cat. As such, it’s  not often that the south side gets to experience the joys of the north side which is why Jack Rabbit Slims is proud to present this musical ensemble to get the party started.

With summer round the corner, exams looming, and peer pressure fading away to the recesses of the libraries….Jack Rabbit Slims has some residents that are sure to be your stand in drinking, dancing, chatting, smoking and partners in crime.

Jesse Young

Young by name young by nature…mainly because he is one of the best young guns that Melbourne has at the moment. Holding multiple spots at multiple places, we are proud and privileged to have him call Jack Rabbit Slims his Thursday home ground.

Sam Devitt

Mr Devitt moved from the commercial hub that could only be described as a manufacturers place of operations to what is becoming the place of mixes and mashes, party and hip hop,  dancing and disco. Don’t know him? Introduce yourself he’s lovely, promise!

Tim Murphy

Murphy’s law? Drink till your drunk. That’s it and that isn’t so hard to do when you have the drink prices as can be seen below. Such a happy guy and knows his way around a football (soccer for your Oz-e’s playing at home). The guys a super star not just on the field but on the decks and dance floor also. Give him a hug, coz he’s a cute cunt.

Lightwork

Many hands makes light work or so the saying goes. These guys have 4 between them so they should be twice as apt when it comes to doing something that’s dynamic, fun, exciting. You might see these guys behind the decks or even behind the bar, but one thing is for sure whatever it is that they are doing they are making sure you are enjoying the party with tunes or shots. Come with a group, its easier than coming on your own.

While their production is a different style to what you would hear at Jack Rabbit Slims on a Thursday, it’s no less amazing. Have a listen. Now come have a dance.
