Since launching early 2010 the ‘South Side Show’ has quickly become Melbourne’s undisputed weekly home of Vaudeville, Circus and Cabaret.

On stage, on the dance floor or hanging from the ceiling, every Saturday night this lush art deco inspired venue comes to life with the crème de la crème of local and international guest performers, alongside a rambunctious crowd comprised of circus kids, carney folk and vaudevillians.

With a reputation as a world class cocktail bar as well as one of the city’s most alternative club nights, the South Side Show parties till the wee hours each Saturday to the sounds of soul, funk, jazz, hiphop and cabaret show tunes served up by DJs Mike Gurrieri & Knave Knixx.

3 HIGH ACROBATICS

A blonde, brunette and Japanese guy walk onto a building site. Their mission is to construct a contemporary circus show. Using comedy, circus, parody and music watch as a gym junkie, ninja and reformed hippy endeavour to explore what it takes to make a piece of 'contemporary art'. Watch as 3 high acrobatics knock off!
 
The members of 3 high acrobatics, who met and trained at the National Institute of Circus Arts, come from very
diverse backgrounds. Highly respected in their fields of stunt work, flying trapeze and fire spinning, these three
acrobats come together to poke fun at contemporary circus. 3 High Acrobatics use a home renovation show
format to deliver their debut show.

Our zen gardener Taka has come from Japan and over ten years experience as a stuntman, Taka brings a wealth of experience and talent. Having a third dan black belt in karate provides Taka with a very unique style of acrobatics.
Our okka builder Sam started his career as a flying trapeze artist. Having a background in theatre and music
Sam brings a comedic element that is priceless.

Chris, our painter, started his career travelling around Australia fruit picking and fire spinning, he
soon turned his hobby into a career. Being the first fire performer accepted into NICA Chris brings a unique
creativity and style to compliment this impressive trio.

Three High Acrobatics new show ‘Knock Off’ looks to entertain our audience through exciting, humorous and
highly skilled circus acts using apparatus such as teeterboard, ladder, manipulation, aerial rope, partner
acrobatics, pitching, music and comedy.

CHRIS CARLOS

Growing up in an army household, fire performance and circus was far from the norm. In the 9 years Chris Carlos has been fire spinning he has developed a reputation for highly skilled, innovative and individual performances. Using a unique form of spinning, contact staff, chris manipulates fire around his body without using his hands.

ANDREW MCLELLAND (MC)

Andrew is a modern bon vivant, dandy and comedian. has performed in 12 consecutive Melbourne International Comedy Festivals and is a four-time veteran of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He has twice been invited to perform at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival and is a past recipient of the Comedians’ Choice Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Jury Prize at the Sydney Comedy Festival.

His television appearances include Spicks and Specks (ABC), In Siberia Tonight (SBS), Stand Up Australia (The Comedy Channel), AD/BC (SBS)  and The Chaser’s War On Everything (ABC1). He can currently be seen every Friday on Channel 10's morning program The Circle. In 2009 he became one of the few comedians ever invited to perform at the Perth International Arts Festival and also played seasons in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
