The first of the last and the first of the month, normally the 1^st of the month can be the date when bills arrive, or your pay goes in. December however sets the stage for the festival that we all know and love, the festival of lights (Christmas or Channukah)…there are lights involved in both of these wonderful times of year.

Whilst we do not plan to deck out the bells with holly or set ablaze 8 armed candelabras we do plan some festivities that will ensure you can keep drinking and afford gifts (for yourself or others).

Jack Rabbit Live has organised, orchestrated and for a lack of a better word programmed in a night where things could not go more smoothly.

Speakeasy

Speak easy four peace from the Eastern suburbs with enough street-cred to actually have their origins coming from the streets as a busking duo. When they teamed up with the other two members they formed a band that accepted as their mission to bring sexy, head bobbin, bone jumpin’ soul, reggae and pop to the people in Melbourne who love it. And if you don’t love it, that’s fine we are sure that you will.

Headling the show because with tunes this fine the only thing they lack is a guy with a fro. We  look forward to present them for your pleasure.

Maddy and Milli

Blond  and brunette. One plays guitar, they both sing in a band but also as an acoustic duo. As fantastic with 4 as they are with just their twosome. The power of their voice shines through and explodes into a room like the piercing of night by the first ray of light in the morning. Little can be said for their indie acoustic pop that would do justice. We think Maddy and Milli are pretty terrific and we hope you do too!

Birds For Running

Another duet, this time sourced from the South Eastern suburbs and with a delightful folk ambient style that they are building up a steady fan base that sees them play very frequently at The Espy. Fronted by Ben Shorter and Shivaun Pereira, this is a combination that is as smooth and wonderful as chocolate sauce on ice cream.

Listening to Shivaun’s voice is nothing short of a relaxing experience with her ability to make even the most stressful day seem to melt away effortlessly. Their ability to calm, relax, captivate is delightful. So if you have had a tough day, want to unwind, then have a bit of a dance afterwards the early part of this night is most certainly for you.
