DEJA

Local outfit Deja are simply thrilling audiences left, right and centre. Their pop/rock/electro beats, larger than life hooks and dirty ol’ bass lines are throwing crowds a sharp contrast to a live music climate steeped largely in lo-fi indie. As a live act, duo front-team Claire Rayner & Jack Arentz offer an sexily energised stage presence captivating both sight & sound.

Bred of an unusual splice of classically entrenched musicality with uncanny technical acuity - the ingredients of good song structure - the band bring a raw enthusiasm to the pop genre, and thrive on delivering a fine live set.

After enforcing a lock-down for the latter part of 2009, time used to build a studio and master new music, Deja are now firmly back on the live circuit, scheduled for a slew of live shows across a variety of venues in the summer of 2010/2011.

Their latest release - Fast Hard - sports an intense combo of guitar riffage, oscillators and pumping bass-lines. The single showcases the band’s ambition; to create cohesive and challenging pop music.

‘Wild Things’, currently in its release phase, is a scorching, shrieking, thumper of a track, harmoniously marrying melodic elements of pop/rock with a visceral electronic fierceness.
