Returning to Red Bennies , Cultural, Artistic, Business and Networking French institutions of Melbourne join forces and ally to celebrate Bastille Day:
To fight against winter and bring some heat from the European summer with a 'belle epoque' inspired jazz Bastille Ball Day, The Alliance Francaise, Cartell Music, Organisation Clandestine, Meet Up Melbounre, & Facci YP invite you to celebrate this important date of the French calendar with them.
'Et maintenant Madames et Messieurs place a la musique et a la dance' with french cancan review (reminding the great dances of le Moulin Rouge) and the jazz band La Mauvaise Reputation. They will entertain you all night with French songs and melodies that will bring a 'je-ne sais-quoi-de tres-chaud'.

LA MAUVAISE REPUTATION
The most French band in Melbourne's Inner North, "La Mauvaise Réputation" take their inspiration from the greats of the French Chanson tradition: Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens, Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Serge Gainsbourg, Jean Sablon, Georges, Ulmer.
They faithfully recreate the beautiful French standards of the early 20th century, in their original French, and in the Jazz Manouche style of legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt and his followers.
From roaring swing and dance numbers, to ballads of loss and despair and patriotic French themes, "La Mauvaise Réputation" make Melbourne - for the space of a few hours - the 21st Arondissement of Paris!
IMOGEN KELLY - MARY ANTOINETTE BURLESQUE PERFORMANCE
Imogen Kelly is Australia's first lady of burlesque. This darling of the demimonde, bon vivant and plaything of millionaires is internationally renowned for her gorgeously defiant take on burlesque. She is a showgirl of 20 years experience and has dazzled on every level of showgirl stardom. This includes everything from the Moulin Rouge kick lines, peep shows in Tokyo, Japanese topless weddings, Gypsy circus tours in Europe, Mardi Gras extravaganzas, Edinburgh festival five star show, La Clique veteran and creator of award winning burlesque theatre shows tarnished and The Undressing Room. With a BFA in Performance (COFA) under her belt and a NIDA degree in directing Imogen embarked on a jetset career as an international show pony.
Imogen has been keeping a tally of the number of people who have seen her undress and vows that when it reaches one million she will retire. Until such a time she will continue to provide provocative whoopee and set the world ablaze with her outrageous characters.
