Constantina and the Bushettes

Let this deadly Indigenous trio take you on a unique romp of comedy, romance and theatre. This subversive, Myall performer will charm you with her stories and songs that follow her move from a dusty cattle station in the outback to the bright lights of the city to pursue her dream of becoming a showgirl. Delivered with the unique bush-style camp and outrageous wit that has propelled Constantina to become Aboriginal Australia's best loved darling diva. Don't miss Constantina's return to Melbourne – especially for Midsumma – after her successful national festival circuit.
Constantina Bush and the Bushettes have been developing their unique show across Australia over the past two years, and have created a cult following for their subversive cabaret with bite and humour.
Creator and Constantina's alter ego Kamahi Djordon King is a Gurindji member from the Northern Territory. No stranger to performing arts, Kamahi started acting in Perth, Western Australia, in 1994 and hasn't looked back. Kamahi is also a Graduate of the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts and has been living in Melbourne for the last six years. Since moving to Melbourne he has worked with the Australian Shakespeare Company, Snuff Puppets and created the character Constantina Bush. Two years ago Constantina was created and introduced to the world by way of Outblack. Since then the larger-than-life character had to create a large show in which to take her meagre story to the rest of the world. Constantina Bush and the Bushettes has been a popular hit on the festival circuit and has future tours to Adelaide, Canberra, Brisbane, Darwin and far North Queensland.
