Electric Empire Album Launch

Electric Empire is a collaboration of three soulful and talented Australian musicians influenced by the raw sounds of the 70's soul and RnB music revolution. Melbourne's Dennis Dowlut, Jason Heerah and Aaron Mendoza fused their talents together to form a unique band marked to breathe new life into Melbourne's live music scene early 2009.

The three band members challenged themselves to create, write and produce an expressive, organic album, channeling from each of their individual skills - digging deep into their souls, roots and foundations in life, and taking inspiration from the music they listen to and play live.

The result is a collection of original songs highlighting the musical talents and songwriting abilities of the talented trio. The

album flows with an undercurrent of musical influences from the likes of Al Green, Stevie Wonder and Curtis Mayfield.

Their first self-titled album Electric Empire´ is a result of endless evenings in the guys´ South Melbourne recording studio where each track was delicately engineered from start to finish – funded solely by the band, the album will be released independently under Electric Empire Music.

MAGIC BRIAN

"In the summer of 2002 I began presenting my comedy straitjacket escape show in the streets and squares of Europe. Not long after I began performing in international festivals around the world. I have been invited to The World Buskers Festival in Christchurch, NZ, The Fremantle Street Arts Festival in Fremantle, AU, The Edmonton International Busker Festival in Edmonton, CA and several other festivals in Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Europe, including the Windsor International Busker Festival where I won The People’s Choice Award for Best Performer.

Back home in New York City I produce my own variety show and have had the opportunity to perform on the stage of the world famous Coney Island Sideshow as well as appear as a special guest on The Late Show with David Letterman.

Over my years as a performer I have expanded and developed my material. I have complete confidence in every type of performance situation I’m presented with be it performing a card trick for a small group of people at a private event or escaping from my straitjacket in front of a large audience in a theater or on the street at a festival."
