Australia’s premier dark variety and horror burlesque show, Gorelesque, is back with a vengeance! 2011 sees the year of the Gorelesque thrillogy, celebrating 3 years of blood, guts and glitter! Like all good filmic sequels, you just can’t stop at one… And so, these gore-gore girls are packing up their coffins, electric chairs and film cameras, and hitting the road baby!

This year, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne are all on the kill list for our axe-wielding, blade-slashing babes. It’s Halloween come early for all you fiends… and it’s going to be a monster of a show!

2011 has already been a big year for the crew, with the infamous Gorelesque Opening Sequence 2 receiving nominations for Best Short Film Director and Best Short Film at the inaugural Bloodfest Fantastique Film Festival (MUFF). You can be sure that the camera will be rolling for the third time…

MISS NIC

Over the past 6 years Miss Nic has been shimmying and shaking all over Australia, much to the delight of punters, building a reputation as “the thing that goes bump and grind in the night” .

With an appreciation for the darker side of life, Miss Nic is not your average Burly-Q girl. She’s definitely not afraid to push boundaries all in the name of shock theatre.

VESPER WHITE

As a young pioneer in the creative arts, Vesper White has laid siege to hearts and minds all around Australia for the past three years. Best loved for her darkly alluring burlesque acts, Vesper has no fear in exploring everything from the traditional and historical, to the alternative, the horrifying and that based in fetish.

The strength of her stage presence is rare in a creature so young; she possesses the ability to hold an audience quietly captive before drawing a subsequent response of inimitable rapture. White is known for her powerful, enchanting eyes, cheeky smile, an energy that has been likened to Bettie Page, and a hip-shake reminiscent of the Chicago State Fair exotics. As a well-read and researched creative type on all things artistic and performative, Vesper carries herself with a professionalism that exists only in seasoned entertainers. She is currently creative director of Gorelesque Productions and in-house producer at Red Bennies.

She has her own signature routine - a tribute to Dita Von Teese’s martini glass - by using a life-sized coffin, blood and a severed head. Her other act definitely not for the faint hearted is her tribute to Laura Palmer & Twin Peaks which incorporates real organs.

GLITTA SUPERNOVA (NSW)

Always the poser Glitta modelled her pose into an art form, becoming a professional exhibitionist.

Turning heads & hearts towards the bent & bizarre in the burlesque business with her hourglass curves she is a psychedelic cheesecake, cartoon porno parody of pop culture and a social commentary into the truth of what burlesque is meant to be; tongue in cheek satire with raw sex appeal.

Co-founder of Gurlesque, Australia's first burlesque club (opened its doors in 2000-2010) which has had a major impact and influenced an entire genre, moving on to inspire a revolution of female sexuality in Australia.

BETTY GRUMBLE (NSW)

Betty Grumble is a former child pageant star, beauty queen and burlesque heroine. Brain child (and alter-ego) of Sydney-based queer performance artist Emma Maye Gibson. Betty has exploded onto the alternative performance scene in early 2011 and is spiralling out of control (in the best way imaginable).

WITNESS the unmasking of a sunburnt country and PRAY to your normative God that she leaves no oppression unturned, no flesh unsated and no beast without agency. Is she woman or BEAST? Babe or BITCH? Stranger than the weirdest horror and our one and only Ultimate Grand SUPREME, Betty Grumble is Gagging For It!

BB LE BUFF (QLD)

Raised in sunny Brisbane, Queensland, Miss BB. le Buff was bitten by the performance bug at the tender age of 3 and hasn’t left the stage since. Miss BB. started out her dance training in traditional dance styles such as, jazz ballet and tap; and her love of classic musical movies took her at the tender age of 7 to pursue training in Ballroom Dance.

BB also runs her own School of Performance and teaches her ‘tricks of the tease’ in Burlesque, Go-Go, Disco and Charleston dance; as well as Hula Hoop and Signature Act Creation classes. She also has staff teaching Juggling and Flexibility courses.

BB. has performed at many renowned festivals including Splendour in the Grass, Woodford Folk Festival, the Gangster’s Ball, West End Carnivale, Garter Belts and Gasoline and Island Vibe, as well as many varied events such as Dr Sketchy’s Byron, Vaudeville Art Classes and corporate appearances.

BETTY BLOOD

This sassy dame is known to serve up her old lace with a sprinkling of arcenic. Betty Blood is the slightly twisted girl next door who frequently shimmys across melbourne burlesque stages teasing audiences with her unique brand of vaudevillian mischief.

With a background in theatre, performance art, and many styles of dance (from balroom to go-go), Betty's unique brand of neo-burlesque blends her variety of sensuous talents and love of vintage kitsch with odd ball antics and black comedy. 

LUX ST SIN

With a whisper of danger from cherry red lips comes the treacherous bombshell Lux St Sin. This Melbourne based pinup model, shimmy shakin’ burlesque performer and costumier will leave you gasping for more with her stunning looks, jaw dropping routines and dazzling costumes.

Drawing inspiration from vaudeville, old time glamour, film noir, the exotics and more, Lux brings to the stage her unique take on traditional burlesque showcasing acts with sinful themes, smoldering seduction and coquettish playfulness.

BECKY LOU

Becky Lou began her career with Perth's Sugar Blue Burlesque, winning fans with her comical routines, silent film face and killer curves. Now in Melbourne, she continues to purvey her favourite things - sparkles, giggles and partial nudity.

 Recently won Miss Burlesque Tasmania and Miss Pin-up for Miss Burlesque Grand Final 2010.

BETTIE N PAGE

Bettie and Page met on a beach on Barcelona. Dismayed by the aesthetics of their topless bathing they came up with a brilliant product to make boobs perkier! Together they contrived every ladies best friend: Barcelona Boob Freeze! - A Rub on Cream.

Due to their strong beliefs in anti-vivisection, and animal-free products they themselves became their own guinea pigs. Their backyard laboratory testing resulted in something quite enormous leaving them only one choice in life - to become buxom burlesque beauties
