The second week of Jack Rabbit Slims has been put together to present something that is new, cutting edge and sure to bring you something that you may have not seen before – but that you will definitely be seeing and hearing not far in the future.

Polar Nation’s album launch is set to be an early show for those of you who want to get down and have a listen to some new and emerging music that is sure to be a staple on the radio plus all the up and coming shows around Melbourne.

After what is to be some fine curation of music by Polar Nation, we move  into a our regular musical mash ups, genre changing DJs and fantastic drink specials!

Spinning on the wheel of steel this week:

James Kane (late set)

James Kane  composes his own music and also works in collaboration with other people. He plays keyboard and bass  and also runs his own parties. The bands that he stars in are The Davidsons (R.I.P), Janice Munt and The Fiction. To say that this kid has talent, skill and finesse is like saying a panda is an awesome animal – it’s a gross understatement, because he’s fucking epic! Jack Rabbit Slims is really pleased to have him playing his stuff this Thursday. Coming straight from the party he runs bi-weekly, be sure to get in to hear his close set. We know we’re all looking forward to it!

Jesse Young

Some nights you may expect him to be playing a Unique Party mash up styled set full of his own booties and edits. Other nights you'll heart the newest in deep/house/tech. It all depends on how the crowd is looking but Jesse has a knack on selecting the right music to please all. You can expect a unique party mash up at Jack Rabbit Slims. Keep your ears peeled for this young, up and coming DJ!

Big Boss

Prior to earning the codename of Big Boss, he served as a field operative for the CIA black ops unit FOX (Force Operation X) and the apprentice of The Boss under the codename of Naked Snake during the Cold War. On the weekend he ventures into the Melbourne CBD, spinning tunes for the masses of gacked out indie kids, jumping and jiving to whatever disco, funk, thrash, noise, step, scat but mostly Latino influenced sounds he may throw down for his lovers to swing to. And, when not saving the world, he also produces music.

With support from Jack Rabbit Slims wonderful residents melding the night together and making sure that no matter what time it is you always have something to dance to. These boys help shape the night and bring that certain "je ne se quoi" that is so important to any night. Befriend him on Facebook now!
