Rapskallion
Straight out of Brunswick’s bohemia come Rapskallion dressed in their decrepit finery with a glint in their eye and a dagger in their teeth. Formed four years ago, by a raggle taggle band of renegade Melbourne musicians, Rapskallion have entertained audiences all around Australia and Europe with their unique fusion of contemporary vaudeville and raucous dance tunes.

Reminiscent of 20's Paris Bohemia transported to a Romanian tavern and then set adrift on the high seas. Their original music is strongly influenced by the music of Eastern Europe, Greece, France and Spain as well as hip hop and hobo jazz.
Consisting of 7 musicians and 2 circus/cabaret performers, Rapskallion will inspire with their mix of quirky lyrics and rustic, rowdy and romantic accordion driven dance tunes, flourished with double bass, junkyard drums, violin, mandolin, melodica, trumpet, trombone and electric guitar.
They have completed residencies at the Famous Spiegel Tent and the National Gallery of Victoria as part of the 'Liquid Desire' Salvador Dali exhibition.
They have performed at many of Australia's top festivals, including The National Folk festival, Rainbow Serpent, Woodford Folk Festival, Folk Rhythm and Life and the Maya Festival.
2009 culminated in a 16 show tour of the east coast ending in numerous appearances at Woodford Folk Festival, including a New Years Eve appearance on the amphitheatre stage.
Rapskallion toured throughout the UK festival circuit in mid 2009 to a great response playing at festivals such as the Secret Garden Party, Glade, Sunrise and The Hat Fair. They will be returning to Europe in June 2010 to tour more extensively.
