The Red Bennies House Band comprised of some of Melbourne''s finest instrumentalists is a five piece funk / soul outfit presenting music by artists such as The JB''s, Maceo Parker, Tower of Power, The Meters, Soulive and many more. Performing every Saturday night at Red Bennies the line up of Guitar, Bass, Drums, Organ and Saxophone mimics the classic 60''s sould of funk/soul. THIEF AND ELIZA WOLGRAM
Thief & Eliza is all about low slung, bass heavy soul. Both accomplished solo artists Thief (aka gsan) and Eliza (of the infamous Wolfgramm Sisters) are a potent combination. Thiefs intricate sampling, scratching, mpc drumming and djing is sweetly complemented by the slow burning sultry tone of one of Australias finest female voices.
Live sets involve a combination of original beats, reedits and innovative covers. The duo only paired for the last six months have an impressive array of recent supports including national appearances with Fat Freddys Drop (NZ) & Roots Manuva (Big Dadda UK). Melbourne highlights include sharing the stage with De La Soul, Cut Chemist and Peanutt Butter Wolf.
Lilikoi Kaos is an original and contemporary circus performer who grew up travelling the world with her circus family. Drawing on inspiration from all corners of the globe, her performing style both unique and skilful.
Lilikoi was integral in the creation of Circus Trick, Australia´s first youth run circus. The group won Best Circus Show´ and Best Family Show´ awards in Melb Fringe 06 under her direction. She has also created well known Opposable Thumbs in 2007 and recently formed Parasouls, an all female circus show which received rave reviews in Theatre Works Circus Works season.
She has dazzled audiences performing in different venues from the Circus OZ tent to dusty festival´s Australia wide and back to the Crown Palladium.
Tank began her performing arts career at age 9, as a classical ballet and Balkan folk dancer in her hometown of Pittsburgh, USA. She then moved to Chicago where she earned her Bachelors in Fine Arts, majoring in costume design. Inspired by working for a Cirque du Soleil show in 2003, she began private lessons in trapeze with Shayna Swanson. Shortly after, she joined the Aloft Aerial Dance company.
She moved to the land down under to further study circus arts and performance techniques. She now lives in Melbourne, Australia, where she works and trains. She has studied at NICA, the National Institute of Circus Arts, where she fine-tuned her aerial skills, and picked up foot juggling and fire performance.
