Saturday 29 Jan Red Bennies celebrates its 1st Birthday with a  Circus Spectacular to wow even the hardiest of Red Bennies Fans.

Out first year has seen RB’s host a wide, wild and eclectic mix of live music and performing arts events. From Hellfire Fetish Nights, Pink Dingo Musical Theatre Elite fundraisers, MidSumma Drag Shows, Stonington Jazz Festival performances, Flesh Suspension, Ninjas, Swing Bands, Sheep Sheering, International Circus Performers, NYC Clown ActsSexy Parties, Burlesque and more its no wonder that Red Bennies has quickly come to be known as Melbourne’s go to for weird, left field and always unique entertainment.

2010 also saw RB’s take out Melbourne Fringe Festival’s prestigious best venue award, alongside a total of 6 Fringe Festival awards for performances hosted at the venue during Fringe 2010. To top it off we are glad to say we have helped in raising over $50,000 in charity money for anti cancer and humanitarian aid organisations through chin 2010 alone.

Billie started out in a youth circus before she moved to Melbourne to further her circus career.
 Specialising in many acts, Billie’s stand out performances are on the aerials where she interweaves and bends herself in the air in a mesmerizing way.
Her strength and dynamic movements contrast beautifully with her elegance to produce an unmissable act.

Zoe Robbins can juggle burning fire sticks, colourful barrels, translucent Chinese umbrellas and fringed blankets. Choreographed to stylish sound tracks and

only requiring simple but subtle lighting, the performer provides her own props, needs little or no technical assistance and is able to set up in literally minutes. The act can be designed to last 5, 7 or 10 minutes. It can be easily repeated on the same day. This act will dazzle, amaze and thrill audiences of all ages and will enhance and make special events, of all kinds. Zoe Robbins foot juggling is timeless, highly skilled and infinitely flexible.

Ikko

With a career spanning from TV Aerobics instructor in Japan through to
Yoga, Fitness instructor and trapeze artist the would over, Ikko has
firmly planted herself as one of Melbourne’s premier emerging aerial
tissue performers. A regular to Red Bennies she will take to the Sky
in a traditional Japanese Kimono.

Skopalova

Let Skopalova create an inspiring performance for your audience unlike anything they have seen before! Skopalova began her career as a Rhythmic Gymnast training in South Australia where she dominated the rankings year after year, being State Champion six successive years and SA Levels Gymnast of the year three successive years.

In 2006 she relocated to Melbourne to train at the Victorian High

Performance Centre for Rhythmic Gymnastics and study at Deakin University. Throughout her Gymnastics career she was fortunate enough to train with many professionals from Europe including Valeria Vatkina, Junior European Champion and 2000 Olympic finalist. After 12 years training as a Gymnast she decided to use her talents in the dance arena and pursue her love of performing.

Tank

Trapeze artist and performer, pin-up model, fashion designer, and former roller girl – welcome to the universe of the amazing Tank. With a sunburst kiss of orange hair and a physique to bring even the most self-righteous man to his knees, this lady is one sassy bundle of talent!

Kelly Ann Doll

Pin-up pocket rocket Kelly Ann Doll, with dance moves Fred Astaire himself would be proud of. Trained in both theatre and dance, Kelly Ann Doll is one of the fastest rock n roll dancers in the country, winning competitions as she infuses swing, latin, blues & circus into her act to create a unique combination, never seen before.

This versatility has seen Kelly Ann make waves all across the atlantic and beyond, not only within the swing dance arena but in the increasingly popular burlesque scene. Having performed in almost every major burlesque review since 2004, she is redefining the form and as such has become one of Australia’s most loved Burlesque exports.

Mike Gurrieri

Mike's strictly underground attitude towards music has earned him a reputation as a DJ who can open an entire crowd's mind to fresh, innovative music but still know how to make it fun at the same time. Having worked in several local record stores earlier in his career enabled Mike to develop his ear & build a solid collection of music. Not content with just being known as a deep house DJ, Mike has managed to make
a name for himself also playing more eclectic freestyle DJ sets where he explores the depths of jazz, funk, soul, roots & beyond.
