Red Bennies Burlesque

Feat:
Gyspy Duo - Goyim
& burlesque acts TBA!
GOYIM
Street GypSy & kLeZmer duO
Goyim covers a range of Gypsy and Klezmer styles (comprising dance and celebration music)
from across eastern Europe and the middle east, creating a touch of that burlesque cabaret
Balkans brass band appeal, all the while getting an infectious high energy village street sound
found among the Gypsy's.
Esther's use of intricate and frantic rhythms on the fiddle create a sense of urgency while making full use of the catchy melodies and tones. Her vocals are authentic, rich and strong. Paul's percussive attack and gypsy slap technique makes full use of his instrument and creates a solid
back drop.Goyim started working as a duo august 2006 as continuation of the disbanded Klezmer outfit
“The Promised Band”. Due to the appeal and diversity of this act, they have been able to work with the likes of ;
• Current Residency's, Cherry Lounge, Budapest & Bohemia restaurants
• S.A. Film opening act for short film night
• Hobart's 2008 international busker's festival
• Botanical gardens 150th celebrations
• South Australian Art Gallery
• Adelaide Fringe Festival @ Higher Ground
• Red Poles cabaret evenings & sunday afternoon shindigs
• Australia day festival City of Onkaparinga
Corporate functions, weddings, birthdays, restaurants, pubs & clubs, festivals,
plus street performing.
Some of the feedback received: classy, big sound , great stage presence, uplifting, enthusiastic
performance, fingers everywhere, yaada yaada yaada …........
Overall people enjoy this exciting & generally raucous style, most find it difficult to remain in
their seats and in every performance you'll inevitably find some who can't and will dance
regardless.
Goyim's ever evolving and changing repertoire consists of around 50 songs plus improvisation
which will keep people entertained for an evening or afternoon.

SCARLETT
Meet Scarlett, a Melbourne based Burlesque performer who arrives through the untouchable and regal world of Classical Ballet. Scarlett combines a love of performing, theatrics and costume to engage audiences in dance and tease at its best. Performances are heavily influenced by music that inspires and movement that enraptures.
ROSY RABBIT
Take one part cheeky, two parts shimmy shake, add a dash of hubba hubba and you have Australia’s Darling, Rosy Rabbit!
With a strong background in musical theatre and ballet Rosy brings to the stage her very own brand of burlesque which is as elegant as it is vibrant and shows her enigmatic flair.
Beginning her burlesque career in 2006 as a performer, Rosy has since had the pleasure of performing at some of Australia’s premier burlesque events from touring with the Gangsters’ Ball, to headlining Euchronia New Years Eve Ball, to Go-Going onstage at the Big Day Out. In late 2009 Rosy set off on a Northern America and had the opportunity to perform at events such as Devils’ Playground (Los Angeles) and Kitty Nights (Vancouver).
Rosy Rabbit has also produced several shows of her own, from the unmistakably saucy Cristal Burlesque Weekly, to the concept event High Noon Ball.
To Rosy Rabbit burlesque is not only about tease and titillation; she has found there is something deeply empowering in the sensual art, that women of any day and age can both identify with and admire... Burlesque embraces femininity and celebrates the beauty and grace of being a woman in an art form that is as timeless as it is ever-changing.
Mike Gurrieri
Mike's strictly underground attitude towards music has earned him a reputation as a DJ who can open an entire crowd's mind to fresh, innovative music but still know how to make it fun at the same time.
Having worked in several local record stores earlier in his career enabled Mike to develop his ear & build a solid collection of music. Not content with just being known as a deep house DJ, Mike has managed to make a name for himself also playing more eclectic freestyle DJ sets where he explores the depths of jazz, funk, soul, roots & beyond.
Having the ability to play such a wide variety of music has given Mike the opportunity to be the local DJ of choice given the task of setting the mood for many touring acts to take the reigns. He has been billed alongside the likes of Derrick Carter, Henrik Schwarz, Metro Area & Mark Farina at Melbourne's top house music nights. With the more freestyle DJ sets, he has supported DJs such as Jazzanova, Quantic, Nickodemus & Ben Westbeech as well as live acts including Amp Fiddler, Mayer Hawthorne & Crazy Penis. Mike has also started performing alongside funk and soul vocalist Kylie Auldist (of The Bamboos) live on PA. They recently made their debut together at Summadayze 2010 in Melbourne.
2010 promises to be a big year with more international support gigs, more releases on his record label Deepermotions Music & waiting for the right amount of inspiration to move into music production. Stay tuned.
