Direct from London’s West End and trailing rave reviews from across the globe, 26-year-old Australian composer and producer Chloé Charody’s hit circus-opera ‘The Carnival’ opens in Melbourne on May 6 this year.
Every Friday evening in May, Red Bennies, Melbourne will play host to this wild operatic circus where the audience is swept up in a wild carnival of contortion, classical virtuosity, fire & mayhem with the extraordinary risqué classical beauties Ilythian featuring several of Melbourne’s finest circus performers.
Originating from Australia, Ilythian have achieved world wide recognition through their innovative theatrical circus - style presentation of classical music and are quickly paving the path for the future of the genre. Ilythian join the creme of Melbourne’s circus scene to take you on a journey to the chaotic, beautiful and extraordinary world of The Carnival inside a magical Music Box.
Where concert blacks are replaced with glitter and lace, contortionists, musical virtuosos, fire performers & aerial acrobats litter the stage, international theatre producer and composer Chloé Charody is breathing life to a new era in classical music.
