Red Bennies "South Side Show" is Mebourne's Saturday night home for outlandish vaudeville and rambunctious dance floor antics.

For this special Stonnington Jazz Festival edition, DJs Mike Gurrieri & Edd Fisher  will be playing a combination of Jazz, Swing & Soul, programmed to high-flying circus acts.

MIKE GURRIERI

Mike Gurrieri brings his swingin' genre-bending DJ antics to Red Bennies every Saturday night from midnight. Expect to go everywhere from swing jazz, funk, soul, hip hop & everything else in-between. A true party set like no other!

For this Jazz Edition of the South Side Show, Mike will take us on a special 5 hour journey through the many shades of jazz within his record collection.

EDD FISHER

Edd Fisher is a music collector, selector, appreciator, producer & radio presenter.

Not your average disc jockey, Edd is a graduate of Australia's premier music school WAAPA with a bachelor in Jazz Composition, presents a radio show (Tomorrow Land) fortnightly on PBS106.7FM and is one of Beat TV’s latest presenters and interviewers!

A regular DJ in the Melbourne scene, Edd’s sets span a mixed bag of Rare-Groove, Funk, Soul, Future Beats, Disco, Hop Hop & Jazz. A fine selector across broad genres Edd's sound is a seamless blend of old and new creating a distinct and modern take on the dance floor.

AERIAL MANX

Today Aerial is a world leading Sword Swallower, with ten World Records listed with the ‘Sword Swallowers Association International’ (SSAI), and is now considered the most
innovative sword swallower in recorded history. He also maintains an excellent skill level in Contact Juggling, Juggling, Acrobatics, Contortion, Fire Eating, Glass walking, Blockhead, Suspension/suspension dance, and various other forms of prop manipulation .

Career highlights have been: Performed Closing Routine for ‘Divino’ - a NICA production in the City of Melbourne Festival performed in, co-wrote & choreographed ‘Circuside’ by The Opposable Thumbs (Melbourne Fringe 2007), Winner of the Apollo Bay Buskers competition 2008, Suspension performance for headlining DJ Proteus at Pharmacy - Obituary (2009). MC’ing the Kaos Kreepshow at the Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival (2009, 2010) Street performing in: Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Brussels, London, Chester, York, Edinborough Fringe Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Auckland Buskers Festival and headlining the Moonface Street performers Festival.  

LILIKOI KAOS

With Australia’s leading female sideshow performer, Lilikoi Kaos, you are in for a treat. This amazing, charismatic, circus performer has tantalised audiences worldwide with her unique breed of circus/sideshow/burlesque. Founder of Opposable Thumbs, Parasouls, Kaos Kreepshow, Good Kissing Carrion and performing member of The League of Sideshow Superstars, Circus vs Sideshow, and Sideshow Wonderland. Lilikoi is unique and in demand.

DANIEL OLDAKER

Daniel Oldaker presently spends 4 months of each year touring to Europe, America & Asia, performing his highly innovative one-man physical comedy shows

Daniel began performing professionally at the age of 18 and that same year appeared on ‘Red Faces’, Australia’s premier TV variety show winning first prize. Daniel then spent two years perfecting his abundant physical skills at CircoArts circus school, Christchurch, New Zealand.

On his return to Australia, Daniel immediately resumed professional work, appearing in both the 1999 and 2000 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He now extends himself beyond pure performance, to writing and producing. As part of this extension, each year for the last 8 years Daniel has self-produced his own street theatre performance tour to Europe and trained with world class physical theatre practitioners like Phillipe Gaulier (Mentor to Sascha Baron Cohen ), Avner Eisenberg ( U.S.A.), Gardy Hutter ( Switzerland ) and many more.

His innovative use of everyday ephemera, high energy and low verbosity have made him the surprise hit in shows like La Clique at The Famous Spiegeltent in Edinburgh, Adelaide and Melbourne.

At the age of only 34, Daniel has achieved perhaps the highest accolade an artist can expect; he is a ‘performer’s performer’, not only a source of entertainment for the audience, but a true inspiration to his peers. Daniel sets extremely high standards of originality and innovation, which enrich all who see him.
