Reigning from Melbourne, the OMGee’s are practically the newest kids on the block. How did you 6 meet?

We spontaneously formed a break dance circle at cherry bar one Thursday night - the rest is history!

What made you form a band?

Collective love for and need to hear more Nu soul in melb.

You guys are supporting Electric Empire at Red Bennies, have you met the boys yet?
No but we're peeing our pants!!!

How would you best describe your music?
Sex on a stick, dipped in chocolate.

So you have a Monday night residency at Lucky Coq, how’s that going?
Rad! There's always a good crowd. OMGs recommend the chocolate dessert pizza.

You’ve got so many shows lined up - Transport, Veludo, all the way up to BaHa Tapas and Taco Bar, and of course Red Bennies! How do you find the time to gather everyone to rehearse?
With great difficulty!! We all have exams at the moment as well which isn’t helping. We basically end up jamming way too much to compensate.

What do you all do when you aren’t performing?

Play video games… Our drummer surfs til his skin peels off but mostly video games!

Who is the songwriter of the group?

The bass player and the singers. With a little help from boogaloo Joe Jones

Any plans to perform interstate?

We have a Sydney tour planned for July, and an east coast run toward the end of the year in the pipeline.

What song do you play that never fails to get fans dancing?
Fireman Sam - a homage to great Melbourne funksters the firemen.
